The same logic can change in scale and presence.
Scale changes the relationship with the piece. It can work as an intimate object, as a group or as a point of reference within a space.

53 Design Lab pieces begin with raw concrete and a physical relationship with the person using them. Each proposes its own form of activation: fire, water, scent, touch, movement or a combination of gestures.
Body of work
Different pieces.
One shared logic.
Not every piece does the same thing, nor does it need to. They share one logic: the form proposes an action, and that action changes the relationship with the piece or the space.
PZ03 · Touch and orientation
Some pieces cannot be understood from a single viewpoint.
Moving around the volume reveals supports, voids and intersections. Touch, rotation and changes in orientation are part of the experience.
SUJI · Light
Activation can reveal what the material already contains.
Light changes the reading of the relief, brings out shadows and shifts the perception of the surface without altering the form.
Modes of activation
They are not all activated
in the same way.
Each piece allows certain gestures and excludes others. Activation is part of its design, not something added afterwards.
Fire
Flame, light and heat change the perception of the cavity, relief and immediate surroundings.
Water and scent
Water, oils or smoke can change the atmosphere and extend the sensory relationship with the piece.
Touch and movement
Turning, touching, moving or reorienting changes the reading of the volume and reveals another relationship with the form.
Presence
Some pieces work primarily through scale, visual weight or their ability to become a focal point.
PZ07 · Scent
Activation does not always depend on fire.
Scent, smoke, touch or movement can become the gesture that completes the relationship with the piece.
