Sculptures handcrafted in concrete, designed to restore presence through interaction. A daily ritual to return to yourself. This is my language. This is my universe.

The Benefit. Your Material Anchor

Silence the noise. Reclaim the present

These pieces are not objects of ephemeral consumption; they are physical anchors that endure. Through the weight of concrete and the gesture of fire, we facilitate a technical sequence designed to bring you back to your own attention.

The Path of Presence

01.

Activation

THE GESTURE
Physical contact with the raw texture of the concrete cuts through the day’s inertia. By orienting the piece on its base, the mind registers a change in state. The matter forces your attention to focus on the first movement.

THE EXPERIENCE
A psychophysical switch. The user leaves external chaos behind to enter a space of conscious stillness.

02.

Anchorage

THE SENSATION
The hypnotic act of pouring the sand wax slows the pulse. The actual weight of the concrete, its gravity, and the rhythm of the falling grain act as a visual magnet that clears the mind.

THE EXPERIENCE
A psychophysical switch. The user leaves external chaos behind to enter a space of conscious stillness.

03.

Ritual

THE ATMOSPHERE
Fire interacts with the raw, textured concrete, casting shadows that alter the scale of the room.
The piece becomes a versatile catalyst, crafted in our workshop based on the element you choose to harbor: the fire of wax, water landscapes, or the evaporation of scent.

THE EXPERIENCE
A deliberate pause that structures the atmosphere and quiets the mind. The environment is transformed into a sensory sanctuary.

04.

Presence

THE RESULT
The mind settles while the sculpture remains untouched, inviting you to inhabit the present. The ritual has completed the journey back to yourself.

THE BENEFIT
High sensory fidelity. You no longer just move through the space; you experience it fully.

Solutions for Environments

Activable functional art: sculptural volumes conceived to transform the perception of an environment, provide narrative identity, and elevate the user experience through raw matter and ritual.

Material Anchoring Tools for Wellness Spaces and Retreats

Designing high-fidelity sensory atmospheres.

For yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, Ayurveda studios, and singular hotel projects. In wellness disciplines, the environment is the vessel that sustains the practice.

My pieces act as tools to induce deep calm, preparing the minds of the attendees before the session even begins.

  • Manifestation in the space Centralized fire dynamics using sand wax to unify the group’s intention, or transitions toward damp landscapes with floating candles and subtle evaporation through diffusing stones in quiet and treatment zones.

  • Impact on the experience You create an unforgettable signature factor. The client does not just attend a session; they enter a sensory sanctuary. This instantly increases the perceived value of your retreats and services, fostering loyalty among an audience seeking exclusivity.

Functional Art for Interior Design and Architecture Projects

Substance, gravity, and light for your projects.

For architects, interior designers, and decorators who design under the lines of warm minimalism, contemporary brutalism, and Mediterranean aesthetics.

I collaborate on high-end residential or commercial spaces that reject superfluous ornament, pursuing focal points with conceptual weight and honest luxury.

The multi-position nature of the works allows the inhabitant to physically interact with the sculpture, freely rotating it to alter the room’s shadows according to the time of day.

  • Integration and collaboration
Conceptual and technical support from the project phase. I perform in-studio demonstrations and develop custom finishes to ensure cohesion with the language of the architectural work.

  • Impact on the space
You deliver a space with conceptual density and formal rigor.
By integrating pieces that transform the passive spectator into a co-creator of their habitat, you provide that constructive and intellectual value demanded by the most exacting projects, streamlining the closing of exclusive design proposals.

The Origin: Physical Structures for Inner Silence

Designing for the cognitive system through raw matter.

I do not believe in static objects or accessory decoration.

My practice lies at the intersection of brutalist sculpture, phenomenology of space, and the concept of Shin Sabi: a contemporary evolution of the beauty of imperfection, focused on the mystique of matter and the renewal of one’s inner state.

I investigate how bold volumes, honest geometries, and raw concrete impact human psychology. I sculpt pieces that, when activated, transform the relationship between environment, light, body, and attention.

Each work is handcrafted in my workshop under this philosophy, seeking a noble imperfection that dialogues with architecture and invites the human being to slow their pace.

The sensory experience

Designing for Presence

By Carina Ferrario

My background merges psychology, design, and user experience (UX)—disciplines focused on eliminating friction and humanizing interaction.

n the digital world, this perspective taught me to design intuitive spaces where people could feel at ease. Today, I translate that very same pursuit outside the screens, seeking in the weight and touch of raw concrete a way to bring that experience back down to earth.

53 Design Lab and the Shin Sabi philosophy are the meeting point where these pursuits converge through functional art.

I design each piece to be inhabited and activated naturally.

By uniting psychology, interaction, and raw matter, these objects provoke an immediate grounding: they summon a pause and invite you into a space of introspection where solid form and its different modes of activation (fire, water, essences, or physical gesture) help you, quite simply, to return to yourself in the present moment.
